The Veilio is one of the most unusual series in Sailor's current range.
At first glance, it resembles a Professional Gear Slim. In fact, however, it is somewhat larger and equipped with the large 21-carat gold nib that is otherwise used in the Professional Gear. As a result, the Veilio combines a compact format with the writing feel of the larger Sailor models.
The real highlight, however, is the material. The barrel is made of transparent acrylic, traversed by colored marbling. Unlike many special editions, the character of the fountain pen is not created by a special color alone, but by the effect of the material itself.
The name "Veilio" is composed of the English word Veil and the Japanese word Iro (color). It describes the idea behind the series very aptly: The colors seem to lie like a fine veil in the transparent acrylic and give the material a special depth.
For the third generation, Sailor combines clear acrylic with pearl effects in orange or blue. Since the marbling is created directly in the material, no two fountain pens are exactly alike.
